Information

Nature is the greatest of healers, and health is truly a state of being.  What most of us are needing these days is not another course to fill our heads with even more information, but a chance to rest, process our lives, remember who we are - and why we are here.

More than ever in history we are in need of getting out of the city and into the forests and fields of nature.  Not simply the wide open spaces of fresh air and starry skies but the very energy of nature that can re-harmonize us - like nothing else can.

The Birch River Forest Immersion Series is a response to the unique needs of the people of today.  Designed by herbalist, guide, and meditation instructor Chad Cornell, this 3 day retreat is located along side the boreal's beautiful Birch River.  A rare blend of Canadian shield rock, riverside terrain, and pioneer homestead fields. The plant and animal diversity of this site is truly inspiring and only 75 minutes from Winnipeg.

Gift yourself the time and space to sleep, write, meditate, contemplate, swim, ground, digital detox or just be in the woods with time to breath easier and lighten the load.  Allergy sensitive wholesome meals will be provided that are designed to rejuvenate the body, feed the soul, and clear the mind.  Though forest immersion is a kind of medicine in itself, deep immersion is designed to help us reconnect deep within, as much as with the natural world around us.

Schedule

Friday: Settle in anytime after 12 noon and set up your tent (because it is best to sleep as close to the earth as possible).  There will be a fire and meal in the evening and a chance to meet the other retreaters.

Saturday: Coffee and tea will be on early at the Yurt but teachings won't begin until noon.  Feel free to sleep in, go for a walk, swim or read.  We'll spend a short time covering ways to replenish Ojas (vital essence), the art of wu wei, (effortless action), walking meditation, dream yoga, followed by a short group meditation. Retreaters will be encouraged to find a quiet place to be in one of the many peaceful spaces found on site or inside tents.

Saturday: dinner will be available, followed by an optional sharing circle and fire.

Sunday: Sunday morning will start with breakfast and yoga followed by meditation.  The day will be left open for exploring the magic, and the majesty of nature and to immerse oneself in a process of inner exploration or creative practice.

Sunday: late afternoon meal will be followed by an optional sharing circle and some participants may choose to stay one more night.
